About the role

Tower Hamlets Housing Options Service is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual who is solution focused with an ability to analyse complex matters objectively. The dynamic individual will lead a team of Housing Reviews Officers focused on statutory housing reviews as well as Complaints Officers with a focus on homelessness complaints.

Not only will you supervise the statutory reviews and homelessness complaints functions for the Service, providing direction and support but will also contribute to the learning, development and improvement of the knowledge and practice of Housing Options colleagues. Overseeing daily work activities, developing and implementing improvement actions to ensure consistent service enhancement will also be part of your duties.

Please note this role is available as a 12 month Fixed Term Contract


The Person

We are looking for a candidate who has extensive knowledge of housing legislation coupled with audit level decision making skills. 

An individual has excellent organisational and leadership skills demonstrating self-management, motivation, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment, as well as proven leadership abilities to guide and support effectively.

You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex matters objectively and persuasively in various formats. Experience of working in a busy customer-oriented environment, delivering excellent customer service, and managing team performance.

You will have good leadership skills and experience in managing a team in a public sector organisation. A confident, experienced, and adaptable self-starter, you will be able to work proactively and on your own initiative.
