Commissioning Manager
Are you passionate about ensuring young people receive high quality, creative, innovative and engaging youth services to enable them to feel safe, have fun, make friends and achieve their potential? We are seeking a Strategic Commissioning Manager to join our Children’s Integrated Commissioning team which sits within Children’s Services. The role will be focused on strategic commissioning of universal and specialist youth services with and for our young people within Young Tower Hamlets.
As part of the Young Tower Hamlets offer there will be ‘safe spaces’ for young people aged 11-to-19 years old (extending up to 25 years old for young people with special educational needs or disabilities) in every ward throughout the borough. The offer directly supports the aim and outcomes of Tower Hamlets strategy to reduce violence, vulnerability and exploitation affecting young people through providing young people with accessible safe spaces to go, positive and educational activities for young people to participate in and access to additional support from skilled youth workers.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop creative solutions to best support and guide our young people in a challenging ever-changing environment and market. Ensuring that the services offer choice, control and flexibility to our young people and their families, whilst achieving value for money to the Council.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing.
Tower Hamlets vision for our borough is that: people are aspirational, independent and have equal access to opportunities; we are a borough that our residents are proud of and love to live in; and we are a dynamic, outcomes-based council using digital innovation and partnership working to respond to the changing needs of our borough. We want people who aspire to our TOWER values: Together; Open; Willing; Excellent; Respect.
Tower Hamlets has a zero-tolerance approach to, and works to eradicate, all forms of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status, status as a civil partner, gender, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and maternity and looks to employ a diverse workforce representative of those groups. We recognise that people can also be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class. We are a Disability Confident Employer, which means applicants who declare a disability and meet the essential criteria for the post are guaranteed an interview. Care experience has also been adopted by the Council as an additional protected characteristic.
We welcome applicants interested in flexible working arrangements and also applicants who live in the borough.
