Mile End Park Pavilions Venue Assistant (Fixed term, 2-year contract)
Grade G (£38,571.00-£40,344.00) with a pro rata salary based on 28 hours per week (0.8 of a full-time post)
Tower Hamlets Arts, Parks and Events team is looking for a Venue Assistant (fixed term for 2 years) to support a wide range of cultural, corporate and private events and exhibitions at the Art and Ecology Pavilions.
Situated in the Green Flag award winning Mile End Park, the Art and Ecology Pavilions are a haven of tranquility for weddings, private parties, cultural events and exhibitions in the heart of East London.
This is an exciting, two year fixed-term opportunity to join a dedicated venues team that is committed to developing a vibrant events and exhibition programme for residents and visitors to the borough.
A key priority for this role is the ongoing commercial development of the venues and requires a candidate with commercial awareness of the event, marketing and hospitality sectors.
We are looking for a candidate that has excellent client management skills and experience of working in multi-arts purpose venues. The role will be customer focused including arranging and hosting venue viewings with potential clients through to finalising bookings, payments and supporting the delivery of events in the venues. This role will support the marketing and promotion of the events and help to strengthen the reputation of these flagship venues.
The role requires a candidate that is commercially minded with a track record of working with corporate and commercial clients to support income generation targets. You will be a central point of contact for clients, ensuring the highest standards of customer care and satisfaction.
You will ensure that health and safety standards for all bookings are maintained across both venues and support with the set up and take down for events as required including supervising casual event support staff and contractors as required. This will include setting up furniture and audio-visual equipment for bookings as required.
Tower Hamlets is a diverse and vibrant borough, and this role will play a key part in supporting the development of the borough’s arts and cultural sector. This will include supporting a busy exhibition and arts programme.
This post will report directly to the Film and Venue Officer. This role will require a flexible working approach including weekend work and evening work. This role will primarily be based at the pavilion venues.
