Mortuary Manager – Senior Anatomical Pathologist Technologist
Role Purpose
· To assist the Regulatory Services in managing the Public Mortuary based in Poplar High Street, London E14.
· To deliver a joined-up response to the Coroner’s Service and to assist with discharging the Council’s duty in relation to Public Health funerals.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
· Manage the mortuary in relation to the standard operating procedures, ensuring safety standards and prevent cross contamination.
· Provide high quality specialised services in the area of the Public Mortuary and to advice on the full range of issues which meet the needs of the Tower Hamlets community including managing processes and assisting in policy development as required.
· Maintain a comprehensive system of monitoring and reporting of performance against targets.
· Be able to work out of hours
· After a post-mortem, the post holder will help to reconstruct and clean the deceased person ready for storage or release to an undertaker.
Requirements
You will need to demonstrate the following skills:
1. Experience of continuing professional development within the Mortuary Service.
2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
3. Well organised, with good administrative and computer skills.
4. The post holder will work a 35 hour week and will participate in the out of hour’s rota.
In addition, you will need to have the following qualification:
· Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology (or equivalent).
