Move-on Team - Team Leader
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to oversee all aspects of move-on for households in statutory temporary accommodation (TA) into alternative homes, including private rented sector (PRS), social housing, and specialist provision such as sheltered or supported housing. The goal is to minimise stays in TA and ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of move-on for households in statutory temporary accommodation (TA) into alternative homes, including PRS, social housing, and specialist provision, e.g., sheltered or supported housing, so stays in TA are kept to a minimum.
- Oversee the provision of a PRS access service to discharge statutory homelessness duties, prioritising households in TA or who would otherwise require TA.
- Coordinate and supervise temporary accommodation (TA) Move-on Officers and PRS Matching and Tenancy Set-Up and Resettlement Officers, ensuring all staff have balanced caseloads organised to deliver optimum efficiency.
- Provide direction to all staff so that year-on-year improvements are made.
- Motivate and encourage staff development to ensure they are equipped with the relevant expertise.
- Monitor and manage performance against targets and the requirements of the service, ensuring the correct implementation of policy and procedures in the team’s day-to-day work.
- Deliver the Team Plan targets.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a busy customer-oriented environment and successful team management.
- Ability to develop and implement new initiatives and contribute to service development.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Knowledge of housing policies, landlord and tenant legislation, and welfare benefits.

Tower Hamlets has a zero-tolerance approach to, and works to eradicate, all forms of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status, status as a civil partner, gender, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and maternity and looks to employ a diverse workforce representative of those groups. We recognise that people can also be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class.
